How AfriFacto establishes provenance

1. Source

Each imported observation retains its source and source URL when supplied.

2. Indicator

The observation is linked to an AfriFacto indicator with a definition, unit and frequency.

3. Observation

Country, year and numeric value are stored as a distinct observation record.

4. Methodology

Methodology and status are preserved with the observation where provided.

A source record explains where the data came from; it does not by itself mean AfriFacto endorses every interpretation. Always review the original source and methodology for high-stakes decisions.
