It is about 3km from the city centre. It is a burial site for military servicemen who died in the country during the colonial period.<\/p>\n<p>The cemetery has well kept grounds containing clearly marked marble gravestones bearing names and court of arms of the forces of the late servicemen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Historical Information<\/strong><br \/>The Cemetery contains 26 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War representing 19 soldiers of the East African Forces and 7 men belonging to the Uganda Police.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Significance of Nakawa Commonwealth Cemetery<\/strong><br \/>The cemetery is a remembrance of over 1.7 million men and women of Commonwealth forces who died during the First World War of 1914-1918 and Second World War of 1939.
