These are important reasons why cost-effective maternal and child health (MCH) services are not available to over half the population of Uganda and progress towards the Millennium Development Goals for MCH is slow.<\/p>\n<p>Optimising the roles of less specialised health workers (\u2018task shifting\u2019) is one strategy to address the shortage and maldistribution of more specialised health professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Specialised Health care facilities in Uganda have seen the country improve its performance in the health sector through delivery of quality services.<\/p>\n<p>The following are the key specialised facilities<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fortuneofafrica.com\/ug\/childrens-health-centres-in-kampala\/\">Kampala Children Health Centers<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fortuneofafrica.com\/ug\/maternity-clinics-in-uganda\/\">Maternity Clinics<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fortuneofafrica.com\/ug\/optical-centres-in-kampala\/\">Optical Centres in Kampala<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Uganda there is a shortage and maldistribution of medically trained health professionals.
