Elgon has the largest volcanic base in the world. It is Located on the Uganda-Kenya border it is also the oldest and largest solitary, volcanic mountain in East Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: EYInterstate Light,serif\">Mount Elgon National Park is home to over 300 species of birds, including the endangered Lammergeyer. Small antelopes, forest monkeys, elephants and buffalos also live on the mountainside.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: EYInterstate Light,serif\">The most famous of animals are the elephants well known for digging salt out of the lower eastern slopes\u2019 caves.
