The Park is 30 km by road from Mbarara Town and it is 240 km from Kampala City. It forms part of the 50 km wetland system linked by a swamp. There are five small lakes within the park\u2019s borders. Lake Mburo is one of the few national parks in which visitors are allowed to walk but\u00a0 accompanied by a ranger.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Vegetation<\/strong><br \/>\nThe vegetation of the park is mainly wetland savanna interspersed with rocky ridges and forested gorges, wood land and patches of papyrus swamps.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Wildlife<\/strong><br \/>\nThe park is a home to a variety of animals including crocodiles, zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi and reedbuck. and over 313 different bird species including the rare Shoebill stork and White-winged Warbler<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>The Visitors can engage in the following activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Bird Watching<\/li>\n<li>Game viewing Wildlife Drive<\/li>\n<li>Savannah walks<\/li>\n<li>Boat trips on Lake Mburo<\/li>\n<li>Horseback Safaris<\/li>\n<li>Fishin<strong>g<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Animals at a pond getting refreshed in Lake Mburo National Game Park Location The park with an area of 370 sq km is located in Kiruhura District in western Uganda.
