The Commission is composed of 9 members with powers to facilitate and\u00a0 improve\u00a0 the efficiency and effectiveness of Justice administration in Uganda. The Commissioners are drawn from persons of integrity and unquestionable character.<\/p>\n<p>It is a specialized appointing Commission having an oversight functions in relation to services delivered to the people by the Judiciary. The mandate and functions of the Commission are re-defined under Articles 147 of the 2006 Constitution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Functions of the Judicial Service Commission<\/strong><br \/>\nThe functions of the Judicial Service Commission include<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advising the President in the exercise of his or her powers of appointment of judicial officers and their removal, terms and conditions of service<\/li>\n<li>Preparing and implementing programmes for administration of justice<\/li>\n<li>Receiving and processing people\u2019s recommendations and complaints concerning the judiciary and administration of justice and , generally, to act as a link between the people and the judiciary<\/li>\n<li>Advising the Government on improving the administration of justice; and<\/li>\n<li>Any other function provided by the Constitution or by Parliament.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Judicial Service Commission is a Constitutional body established under Article 146 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, 1995.
