most attractive African telecom markets for investors.<\/p>\n<p>Burundi is a landlocked country connected to international fibre optic cables giving it access to much greater amounts of international internet bandwidth at lower prices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Telecom operators<br \/><\/strong>Burundi has five telecommunication companies which comprise of<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leo U-com owned by Egypt&#8217;s Orascom which controls 64 percent of the Burundi market<\/li>\n<li>Econet a subsidiary of Econet Wireless<\/li>\n<li>Lacell SU from Nepal<\/li>\n<li>Africell, owned by VTL Holdings of
